What is breast lift ?

With a breast lift in Turkey, also known as mastopexy, sagging breasts are lifted and made firmer. Women are exposed throughout their lives to numerous factors that can affect the appearance of their breasts. A breast lift can reverse the effects of time, giving you the breasts you had when you were younger.

Candidates for a breast lift in Turkey

Women who are happy with the size of their breasts but not their current breast shape are good candidates for breast lift in Turkey. For patients who desire changes in the shape and volume of their breasts, a breast lift procedure can be done at the same time as breast augmentation. A breast lift can be performed for patients of any age, but we generally recommend waiting until breast development has stopped.

Techniques and Scarring

Various breast lift techniques can be used depending on the size and shape of each patient’s breast. Although each technique leaves a different kind of scar, the scars from a breast lift procedure usually depend on the shape of the breast and the amount of sagging. In mild cases, the incision may be made just around the areola. In more advanced cases, the incision may be around the areola with a straight scar going down. In more extreme cases, incisions will be made around the areola with a reverse “T” scar.

Over time, most scars fade; however, the visibility of the scar can vary. We recommend medical grade scar products that can help minimise the appearance of the scar and there are other laser treatments that can help as well.

Breast Lift Recovery and Results

Breast lift (mastopexy) patients can go home the same day of their surgery. Patients usually need help at home for the first two days; however, they can return to moderate activities within a week to ten days. Strenuous activities such as sports and activities involving arm movement should be avoided for four to six weeks. Patients can return to normal activities in about 3 months.

Your new breast lift and shape should remain constant, unless you gain or lose a significant amount of weight or become pregnant. It is also important to know that with the effects of aging, gravity will eventually alter a woman’s breasts.
