MISDIAGNOSED. OVERCHARGED. ABUSED. Spent 44k baht for 2 days and the diagnosis is a simple rhinitis.I’m sharing my experience at Chiang Mai Ram Hospital to spread awareness and hopefull help others. Chiang Mai ram is not a hospital but a business. They kill people and rob them of money consciously.I rushed my child to their ER because he was nauseous, in pain, and had vomited blood. They attended to him quickly, but the doctor who came in barely spoke English and seemed confused by our answers. Despite our concerns about not having insurance and the cost, she insisted that our child needed to be admitted to the ICU immediately, claiming it was life-threatening. We reluctantly agreed and were made to sign a 30,000 baht waiver without a proper diagnosis.Once in the ICU, no one explained what they were doing to our son. We had to constantly ask about the medications and procedures, and the nurses became visibly frustrated, even handing us a syringe and telling us to administer the medicine tou our child ourselves. The doctor initially diagnosed our son with gastritis, which didn’t make sense since he hadn’t complained of stomach pain. At that point, I felt we were being bluffed. When we asked for a pediatric specialist, she refused. The next day, we asked to be discharged due to financial concerns, the doctor told us she will arrive at 11noon but the delayed her visit until 2:00 PM and then changed her diagnosis to sepsis, urging us to stay. We begged her to discharge us to avoid further charges, but she kept insisting. At that point I went down to the IPD cashier to beg for our discharge, but they kept telling me it depended on the doctor, which made the situation even more frustrating. I felt hostaged. So I asked them for our running bill. It was 33k baht in 1 day and I told them I cannot afford paying more than 33k please discharge us but they said "Depend on doctor. Talk to doctor" I kept asking for our running bill everyday and then on our last day, I asked for our running bill twice, with a 3 hour difference. I checked our bill on the last day and I noticed it kept increasing, even though my son wasn’t on IV and medicine anymore. Our conversation about getting discharged dragged on for eight exhausting hours. During that time, we discovered they had been inflating our bill by adding unnecessary items. They even tried to convince us we were getting a 10% discount, but it was just a trick as the unnecessary amount they were adding was the discount. After arguing for hours, they finally admitted to adding items to our bill and removed them. See the photos - at 9:49 am we were all packed and discharged from the room but at 1pm our bill reflected an increase of amount which blew my mind - where did they get those items and numbers? None of them were used, no one is on IV and we were packed to leave.I’ve attached images that show how the bill increased within just three hours, even though we were not in the room. These photos also demonstrate the importance of comparing the list of items and medicines used, which you can get from the nurses, with the bill the cashier gives you. We were fortunate that some of the nurses were honest with us.I’m sharing this to urge anyone considering this hospital to be extremely careful. They manipulated us, inflated our bill, and turned what should be a place of care into a business focused on profit. Turns out the doctor assigned to us is just a part-time ER doctor with no specialization, and it felt like she was more interested in making money than in our son’s well-being. To the man in the cashier who admitted to increasing our bill by adding unused items on purpose, I hope you sleep well at night.Chiang Mai Ram is robbing people in their faces. We come here for help and care, not to be robbed and misdiagnosed. If you're going to charge high, atleast have good doctors and great rooms. Dont act high class when your just an average. You admit to not even having budget to print out patient's XRAY film copy and gave me a screenshot instead.

It’s clearly not a hospital with a high education but my husband, who came with high fever and low blood pressure got treated with a lot of care and respect. First we went for just a consultation and this was kind of bed, pointless and expensive, because they changing the doctors hourly. But because it didn’t get better he went back and stayed on the hospital with one doctor and a lot of care. This was way cheaper they took care of our insurance and all the documents and payments with the insurance. In the end they still didn’t know what he had but he got better.Communication for the after check up wasn’t so good and clearly wrong communicated. We were lucky to have a german insurance with a doctor calling additionally and taking care.Good place to recover - low education and management is okay. But everybody was really friendly.

Very expensive and doctors will add on as many expenses, treatments and medications to ensure you spend as much money as you possibly can with this hospital. They’re just a business. I don’t think they care about the wellbeing of their patients. I came here with one condition and was told to do irrelevant scans and given a vast collection of medications, some of which aren’t even related to my condition. Also received a very painful injection where it felt like the nurse hit a nerve and set my arm on fire. When I said it was painful, the nurses seemed to think I was the problem and that I was scared by needles. I’m not, you just put me in excruciating pain worse than my original illness. You will have to wait a long time for anything here. The GPs are no better than those at a cheaper government hospital. The nurses are moody and un attentive and utterly obsessed with taking your blood pressure and constantly adding to your bill without ever telling you the price or clearly explaining what the next step in your treatment is . The doctors are not looking out for your best interests, they only care about maximising their profits. Was shocked at the price of the bill and they even managed to arrange the pricing so that my insurance couldn’t cover most of it like it would have in another hospital. Had a better and much cheaper experience at other hospitals in Chiang mai.

I had the same ortho procedure here that I had at Bangkok Hospital in the same year. I slept in both hospitals. The outcome was that the price and the customer care were near comparable. Bangkok required me to pay 1 out of pocket cost for 4500 baht blood test and health check up before surgery. Ram hospital paid for the same service. Ram hospital provided freePick up and delivery to your home service.

Title: A Nightmare at Chang Mai Ram Hospital: A Stark Warning for Potential PatientsI am compelled to share my harrowing experience at Chang Mai Ram Hospital, which can only be described as a complete nightmare. The sheer lack of compassion, incompetence, and negligence displayed by the staff left me in excruciating pain, endangering my life and forcing me to seek urgent medical attention elsewhere. From the moment I stepped foot into Chang Mai Ram Hospital, I was met with an appalling level of disregard for my well-being. Despite my agonizing pain, the medical staff seemed more interested in their personal conversations than attending to my urgent needs. Hours passed without anyone bothering to provide even the most basic pain relief, leaving me writhing in agony and feeling utterly abandoned. As the hours turned into an unbearable eternity, it became painfully clear that the hospital's priority was everything but the patients. The lack of urgency and communication regarding my worsening condition was not only negligent but also life-threatening. It was only through sheer desperation and the realization that my life was at stake that I made the difficult decision to transfer to another hospital.Upon arriving at the new hospital, it was confirmed that my appendix had ruptured, requiring immediate surgery. The fact that Chang Mai Ram Hospital failed to diagnose such a critical condition speaks volumes about their incompetence and lack of expertise. It is a frightening thought that my life hung in the balance due to their negligence. This experience has left me deeply scarred and filled with anger towards Chang Mai Ram Hospital. The callousness and indifference displayed by the staff during my time of immense suffering is unforgivable. It is a hospital's duty to provide competent care, empathy, and timely pain relief, none of which were afforded to me during my traumatic visit.I implore anyone considering seeking treatment at Chang Mai Ram Hospital to think twice and explore alternative options. The level of incompetence and lack of humanity demonstrated by this institution is beyond comprehension. Your health and well-being deserve better than what this hospital has to offer. In conclusion, my encounter with Chang Mai Ram Hospital was nothing short of a nightmare. The absence of pain relief, the failure to diagnose my ruptured appendix, and the overall indifference towards my well-being were nothing short of a gross betrayal of trust. I urge potential patients to prioritize their health and seek care from a hospital that values their patients' lives above all else.

years ago this place was excellentThe staff of still really lovely however I feel like management more about money than health. The insurance bill for 2 nights was more than most locals would earn monthly!Even the food menu is 4 times as much as you would expect to pay at an expensive place.... it's cheaper to get food deliveries and most people do .The room is good but you cannot use the balconyEven though I got most of my stuff from 7-Eleven close by it was frustrating that staff would not leave me alone even though I expressly told them I would like to do it by myself and for this reason I felt like a prisoner.I was also very surprised that even though I had a call asking what medication I take and I need for the next morning and even still I had to fight tooth and nail what to get what I needed.Overall I think it is probably a case of management simply jacking up over prices after covid

I visited two wonderful doctors here: Mr. Poramed and Mr. Thamanoon. I had an ultrasound, x-ray and blood tests. Everything was amazing! The blood tests were ready within 2 hours, immediately after that the doctor saw me and gave me a consultation. I have never had such service in a hospital: before your visit, they will definitely measure your blood pressure, weight and temperature. Of course, every hospital employee speaks excellent English. After the consultation, you will definitely be shown through and given a coupon to queue for payment. Medicines will also be provided on site if necessary. Best hospital experience of my entire life. I thank all the hospital staff!p.s.: prices here are much nicer than in Bangkok

This is a very expensive hospital, and you don’t get good value for your money here. The hospital is professional, but I would only rate it 7/10. They struggle to keep everything clean and sometimes touch your wounded areas with their bare hands, which could lead to infections. Additionally, they sold me 10 waterproof pads at a very high price, and they were not good at all. If you can find a better hospital, I recommend you do so.

I am dissatisfied with the service provided by this clinic. I had a minor injury and went for a doctor consult and an X-ray. The doctor did not do a physical examination of my injury and sent me straight to the x-ray. During the x-ray they did more shots than needed "just in case". After the x-ray when i went to the doctor he did not do a physical examination. He said that i'm fine and did not elaborate much. Moreover, only one x-ray shot was used by the doctor for examination. The rest were not used and it felt like they took advantage of me by making more x-rays than i needed. In the end i was charged 600 thb for consult and 1900 thb for 4 x-rays. It came as a surprise and the doctor was not upfront about the amount of x-rays he is doing. I do not recommend this hospital, they are more focused on making money off patients than helping them.

Had an excellent experience today, to remove a patch of bad skin from my scalp. Dr. Niwed Sithijirakorn explained the steps of the process in excellent English, tested relevant spots after administration of the local anaesthetic, and the operation was completely painless: at one point I nearly fell asleep, as I felt nothing at all.As others have suggested, get a quote up front, so you know the expected costs, which I thought were reasonable. A recommended experience!

Staffs are 100% attentive and helpful. Doctor are also polite and very attentive as well. They also gave me 2 copies of medicine usage instuctions

FOREIGNERS: ask every single fee first, especially including the DOCTORS FEE. (Which is usually just talking to a doctor for 30 seconds) The services are good and professional, but they are going to try to rip you off wherever they can, in one way or another. Some times if you ask every price first, they don’t dare to give u the ridiculous doctors fee, knowing you will walk away. So you will get given the normal price. But if u dont ask, then receive the service, they can charge you whatever they want afterward. Actually this rule applies to any service in Thailand. Also the medicine they prescribe at the end is always 5 x more expensive than pharmacies on the street. Try to find out what it is before paying then tell the cashier u don’t want the meds.Ive been to this hospital and Bangkok Hospital multiple times, both are always the same but RAM is maybe worse. For smaller treatments they might not add much, maybe some random thing in Thai for 300 baht hoping you just pay it anyway. But for larger 5000+ baht treatments they often slap on a couple more thousand. For large operations they could bump it up to anything. They’re gonna try to do it. But you can take some precautions and keep asking the price of everything as you go along, some times it seems to help. Its a good clean hospital with professional doctors that speak English. Always, always be polite.

Ask for all costs up front because they bill things in such a way even comprehensive Thai insurance will not cover it. Furthermore inspect every bill as they charged me for things they never did and medication they never gave me. Wish I had gone to another hospital.

Best hospital I’ve ever visited. It was fast, attentive, thorough, and the staff was very professional and nice. The hospital itself is very high quality and modern. I got a wellness check for an Australian Visa, which was 3,000 Baht. Simple blood test, height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, chest X-ray, and the doctor listened to my heart and lungs. They submitted everything for me online the same day and got my visa approved. So I think the price is due to these conveniences and the fact that they are a verified hospital on the Australian Visa portal page. Overall, the experience was amazing, well organized, and professional. The nurses taking blood were extremely good at their jobs and were understanding and helpful for my partner who has needle fear.

This has been the best and most efficient medical care I’ve ever received. I came with a swollen eye and pain - the doctor was able to immediately identify the root cause and completed the procedure to drain the pustule I had on my inner eyelid. I was in and out within 1.5 hour (would have been 1hr if I didn’t come close to fainting during the procedure 😅). I also left with all my prescribed medicine as they have a pharmacy as part of everything. They accepted my travel insurance. Overall amazing experience.

I had an appointment with the gynecologist MD. PREMJIT CHAROENWEERAKUL on December 4. the doctor, after an ultrasound and examination, concluded that I have an ovarian cyst with a twist. She began to insist on immediate hospitalization and surgery on the day of treatment. The cost of the operation was estimated at 200,000 baht. She said that the situation is absolutely critical, if I go home I will start tissue necrosis and sepsis. she did not give me the conclusion and ultrasound images for a long time, under the pretext that I was going to surgery now anyway. I had no symptoms other than a rare pulling, non-acute pain. I received the second and third opinions of doctors in other hospitals: with my diagnosis, there is no threat to life (your doctor said otherwise) and the operation is not shown to me. I was treated rudely and manipulated.if I had no experience with such a diagnosis, I would probably have agreed to an unnecessary operation for 200,000 baht.

I went in with a case of extreme pelvic pain and dizziness. The doctor I saw seemed very condescending and frustrated as to why I had come. The diagnosis and treatment they gave me was wrong and I was waiting in all different areas of the hospital without being told what was happening for hours. The prices were extortionate and they have not sent me my test results after 10 days (they said they will be with me in a week). This cost me lots of money and alot of mental strain and I am still unwell.i was not informed of any of the test prices. the whole experience cost me over 11,000 baht and I feel like they exploited me due to being foreign. Avoid.

Absolutely incredible care and support from the mental health team here. They have supported me very delicately in a time of need. There is arrogance in the West about understanding of mental illness and the struggles every human has. If you are wondering if you can be supported with human kindness as well as intelligent use of medication then please do not worry. Try this team and tell them your story and they will help.Floor 4 Specialty department. Thank you all.

Went to emergency room today and it was pretty much a huge waste of time and money. The staff there exist only to take money from you and stack charges on top of charges to your bill. They don’t speak English well and don’t explain what they are doing or how much it will cost. I can’t imagine what would happen if I was incapacitated. I would have to sell my house to pay the hospital bill. If they are not trying to rip you off they are treating you like sheet. Basically, they bully you into getting procedures done. Make you wait for hours just to tell you to go to a different hospital and instead of putting you in a car they want you to take the ambulance so they can charge more. They don’t care about you they just care about taking your money and doing absolute least amount of work they can while gossiping all day. Shameful conduct and very unprofessional. I’m glad I finally said no and walked away with only 1800 baht bill. Which all they did was take my blood pressure and some blood but not give me the results for any of the tests. A bunch of crooks.

Visited two different urologists. Both were completely useless. Dangerously bad at their jobs.Ended up going to the Bangkok hospital across town for a third opinion and the doctor actually knew what they were talking about. They were really surprised that the other doctors at Ram hadn't even asked basic questions or thought of the most obvious diagnoses. If I'd only listened to the Ram hospital doctors then I would be facing permanent life changing health problems.Only giving 1 stars because the hospital itself seemed fairly clean and the nurse and admin staff were professional.I don't know what other departments are like. But based off the medical advice i received, I'd happily give minus stars if possible.

All the smaller ear clinics were closed today, I came here instead. Super professional, a team of people fluent in English to help out throughout the process - and a good ear doctor who quickly had a look and cleared out my ear (and confirmed there was no infection and no need for antibiotics like prescribed from another clinic). I came here after dislocating my shoulder and was surprised how smooth and quick everything went. If this is only 3.6 stars then hospitals in Australia should be negative 1 star. I was in and out in under 3 hours. In Australia, 3 hours is the minimum wait time to see a doctor.

I was used to come for several years and quite often in this hospital and everything was ok. But I came recently to the counter 2 Medicine. And there, I have been received by Miss Sirirat Prathedrat who has been quite rude and unpolite. The minimum required in an international hospital is to have the sense of politeness. Or maybe is it not included in the high price we pay...

The Dr's and staff have been more than patient with me, I've found them very helpful. In the chances that there are/were any discrepancies management has worked with me generously to resolve any misunderstandings. I found Chiang Mai Ram to be reasonable priced, and equipped with decent English speaking staff. Thank you for all your help and extra patience with me during my trying times. I found a little kindness can go a long way, and I was treated with respect and compassion that helped alleviate the issues I was suffering from. I recommended this Hospital in Chiang Mai as one of the better options for price and service. I will continue to seek treatment at this facility.

I cannot express enough how grateful I am to the doctors and nurses at Chiangmai Ram Hospital. We have seen a range of doctors, including those for diabetes, pediatrics, gynecology, gastroenterology, and EENT, and each one has been super kind, genuinely caring, and very good at what they do. They take the time to listen to our concerns and provide us with the best possible care.Extra shoutout to the nurses at the 5th floor nursery, where we spent nights after giving birth to our baby. They went above and beyond to help us and our baby, always with a smile on their face and an assuring tone in their voice. Their kindness, compassion, and extra efforts touched us deeply and made our stay at the hospital a much more positive experience.Overall, I highly recommend Chiangmai Ram Hospital for their excellent doctors and nurses who truly care about their patients. Thank you for all that you do!

Good hospital, helpful staff. I came here feeling really bad in stomach, was quickly attended by the doctor, received medication (intravenous and also got pills). My wife required surgery to remove a cyst. We visited Chiang Mai Ram hospital and had a very positive experience. The doctor was professional yet empathic and understanding towards my wife’s fears. There were also translators who can converse in English and Chinese. And the waiting times were short. The surgery went very smoothly. The ward was spacious and nurses very courteous. It was even better when the overall cost came in cheaper than what was forecasted by the hospital (honest).Would highly recommend.

Went to do my pre flight COVID test here. 3,000 baht for the PCR test and it took me about 1 hour to do all the paperwork and sit around which was a bit too much but whatever.Got my result about 8 hours later (you can go pick it up at the hospital) BUT didn't receive it in my email until about 14 hours after my test. You have to tell them you want it sent to your email address. So just be aware of this.

Visited on December 19, 2021 The inside of the hospital is cleaner than the outside and the staff are friendly. But I've been waiting for the doctor for two hours now. I respect the doctor, but I can't wait for them. Especially for sick people. I hear a part-time doctor is coming, but he doesn't.

I was at the hospital today to make an appointment for my wife with a psychiatrist. When I asked the attendant about the value of the consultation, she was unable to inform me... She said that the doctor will tell me the value at the time of the consultation. How can I book a medical appointment without knowing the amount I will have to pay? What if, on the day of the consultation, I disagree with the amount the doctor charges? This way of working is very strange.

Last night I walked into the emergency room after a minor motorcycle accident while off roading. Nothing serious. I was very impressed in how quickly I was treated and taken care of. The staff are very respectful. I spoke Thai but they spoke excellent English in case your Thai isn’t that good. Within an hour I was in, treated, and out with a treatment plan and medicine.I am so grateful to this hospital and staff. I feel even better to be living in chiang mai now because I know now if there is anything more serious I will go to chiang mai ram hospital and can rest easy knowing that I’ll be taken care of at a fair, relatively affordable price.Thank you all staff for my great experience yesterday evening! I felt much better after the hospital both from the meds and also kind staff.

I was prescribed an antibiotic that is known to have a MAJOR and serious drug interaction with another medication I was taking prescribed by them (I even disclosed that I was on this medication as it was prescribed by their dermatologist to make sure they read my file correctly). I could have died or had permanent blindness as a result of their error. There was a complete lack of competency. After 6 days I developed a full body rash, headache, and two days of fatigue to where I could not move as a result of their error. I followed up with an appointment and they did not accept responsibility for prescribing me two medications that should never be taken together. They could care less that they compromised my health and cost me more money.

Great service. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The process was very quick. Their staff can speak English, so there are many non-Thai citizens who go here. It's one of the fanciest and most expensive hospitals in Chiang Mai.

Very knowledgeable doctor. But I strongly encourage you to be sure and check price before you agree to any services. The nursing staff gave me my price for a MRI. After getting my MRI the price was double. They told me they will discount the new higher price for me since they told me another price to begin with. They also told me the nursing fee was not included in the new price, but they would kindly not charge me for that. I ended up paying 25% more then what they initially told me would be my price and that is with their discount off the new higher price they quoted me. Very unprofessional. I appreciated the doctor though, just did not feel this was fair to treat their patients this way.

Professional staff, but watch out for the blatant over-prescribing of prescription medicine. I was charged 3710 baht for 1 (unnecessary) drug alone. If it were not for having medical insurance, I would have returned this drug once I paid for it. Also, their website is shockingly unuseful.

Free wifi.
