It’s a really poor service and doesn’t appear to have a caring culture.Staff don’t speak English and don’t try. When you call them, staff are rude and dismissive and speak over you. I live nearby and have private medical insurance and I have found other facilities to be much better than San Roque.I see the hospital as basically a public hospital service charging private prices.

Even if you have private insurance and you lay dying in front of the urgency desk, they ask you to call your insurance to get the case number first!! You can die in front of them, they don’t care a thing! Unbelievable

We brought my daughter due to her accidentally ingesting walnuts which she is allergic to. We forgot our E111 card and had to pay a 500 euro deposit. Once I showed them a photo of the card and passport my deposit was refunded. As for treatment I can't thank the staff enough that my daughter was treated quickly (20 minutes) and with kindness. She made a full recovery by the next day and this was down to the quick treatment she received. As a paramedic I had done everything I could in our hotel but she needed more help than I could provide while on holiday. I think we in Ireland could learn a lot for the way they run this hospital. Super friendly and helpful.

After a mountain bike accident, I received the best service experienced ever, anywhere. The personal are smiling and wonderful while doing a fantastic job on the wounds. I am recovering very quickly because of the professional treatment.Already day one I could work. I will be back on my bike very soon, but will be more careful specially in the mountains.

I was admitted to this hospital after falling on 22nd April 2024 whilst on holiday. I was diagnosed with cracked ribs and an internal bleed. I was discharged after 4 nights in hospital (3 in A and E and ICU) on 26th April. The care I received was excellent. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the building and the professionalism of the staff. As my Spanish is limited I was very pleased that the hospital has a team of interpreters to assist although some of the staff did speak some English. One of the interpreters, Nancy, was particularly helpful to me and to my wife in navigating the necessary bureaucracy. Thank you.

Everything was bad. I was sick and they made me wait hours and hours. The doctor was very unfriendly and incompetent. And after all the doctor wanted to make a X-ray from my lounge just because of the normal flu.

It is difficult for me to write a review for this hospital because so much has happened. All in all, I can say that I was treated so poorly in this hospital that I had to have another operation in Germany. My broken bone was not set, and this was clearly visible on the x-rays from the hospital. Nevertheless, I was told that everything was fine. On closer inspection by a specialist in Germany, it was also determined that the rod that had been inserted into my bone was too thin for my weight and too short for the fracture. Now I have to have another three-hour operation in Germany. On a human level, after an initial positive impression, it became clear that the staff were driven to disregard the well-being of the patient by the price pressure from management. What happened? I was admitted to the hospital with a broken leg. At first, everything seemed very serious and well organized. The interpreters provided by the hospital were very committed and the doctor in the emergency room also made a very competent impression. Since the ADAC could only organize a return transport for many days later, I agreed to have the operation here. I was put in a quiet, clean room. Everything was fine. In the middle of the night, for reasons unknown, I was moved to another room. This is where the horror began. I was in a room with a man who was a bit confused and didn't know where he was. The nurses sedated him in a very aggressive manner. It must be said that he also behaved incorrectly towards the nurses. Over the next few days, this escalated into a real war between the nurses and him. For the last three days, I was in a brightly lit room with a neighbor who was screaming for help. He was ignored by the nurses, however. His manner towards the nurses was also difficult on a personal level in many places. Unfortunately, the argument between the parties led to the nurses ignoring me too. On my last night, I stood in front of the nurses crying because I had a 12-hour journey home the next day with only one healthy leg, but I hadn't slept for three days. I asked to be allowed to sleep in another room. I even said I would sleep in the cleaning room. After three days of neon light and noise and constant noise, I just couldn't take it anymore. These methods are used as torture in other places. My request was rejected. Management banned it. So after four days without sleep, I set off on a 12-hour journey home. During those three days, I asked every day to be allowed to go to another room, and every day this was refused. There are also nurses there who would have liked to help, but their hands are tied. Most of the nurses preferred to watch TikTok videos together instead of looking after the patients. This whole experience broke me. No horror film could be worse

I would give 10 stars to Diego and his colleague in pediatrics. We unfortunately live in a brutal world where a sick child won't be attended to until there's money on the table. Thankfully the humanity, empathy and kindness of Diego got our daughter on the mend. I understand that a hospital cannot run without money - but it is beyond messed up that the priority is not making sure that a child is not dangerously sick first, and money and bureaucray second. We showed the necessary IDs to prove we had social security, missing one number, but still had to pay 500 euros up front just to have our daughter examined. The doctoral oath seems to be about euros, not humans now, and that is just incredibly sad and brutal. Thank you Diego, you made our entire week. There is thankfully still good people out there.

How is it possible to run a Private Hospital, earning lots of money from turism.1. Make sure that the staff doesn't speak English2. Make sure, the Doctors are not available 24 - 73. Make sure, you have an translator, that needed to be called on duty( international patients ), and follow the local slow policy.4. Make sure, that the staff is more concerned speaking with each other than their patients / customers, and when the Staff finally take time to speak with you, they only have bad excuses.5. Lots of pain where they put in the drop, won't remove it to another spot, like the hand ( where civilization Hospital's is putting it ).It's not up to the patient to decide, it should be, since you're weel paid from the Insurance.I'm going to report this unacceptable behavior, to S.O.S International Insurance E.U, head office and I will also take these points to the Press. You should be ashamed, treating patients like this🤬🤬🤬

Got advised to come here for my daughter whilst on holiday as she became poorly and quite weezy with her breathing we did attend at 4am but I can honestly say it's better than a UK hospital got seen to straight away no messing around and no 10 hr plus wait time in a&e doctor was great and also the other doctor helped with translation was fantastic

I was admitted to san roque on Tuesday 7th November 2023 with pneumonia and a blood infection which both required treatment, in total I spent 7 nights in the hospital and I could not find fault in any way I was treated, from the care of the nurses to the quality of the meals I was given I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of the hospital , as what could have been a distressing time for myself was made extremely comfortable and bearable by the obvious manner in which the hospital is run.Another area in which they excelled were the translators, who were always available to give peace of mind to myself in understanding my condition.I can only thank the staff throughout the hospital for treating myself in the highest standard from start to finish. Thank you.

I visited this hospital twice and had two different experiences. I developed a stomach hernia while I was on holiday and was in a lot of pain .The first visit i was seen by a kind caring lady doctor who was very polite and made me feel at ease. Also the nurses showed me the same respect and kindness.I am British but speak Spanish. The second time i visted the hospital for a scan two days later I was treated with respect and kindness again by the nurses and Radiologist. Until I had the misfortune of meeting the Doctor.I have never in my life been spoken to and treated with such disrespect. He looked at me with contempt .He's attitude stunk.I won't go into detail. He made mistakes and then tried to be nicer when he realised. I ended up breaking down in tears but told him exactly what I thought of him.I would never return to this hospital again for fear of having to experience the terrible attitude and treatment of this younge male doctor. I have never written a negative review in my life but just cant get over the way i was treated by this doctor.

Absolutely disgraceful service. We were waiting for the ambulance for 30 mins and then another 1 hour for a doctor to arrive. And even after the doctor arrived 1 more hour for the ambulance to actually leave. No information was given, they were all laughing as it didn't matter my boyfriend was in serious condition. After 1 hour I got a call from a "nice" lady pretending to care but all she was looking for was the money. Once they got all the amount I never got a reply simple asking about the aftercare. They only want your money and don't care about people in general. AVOID!!

I visited the hospital on Monday 31st as I had fallen getting out of the swimming pool at our resort. The paperwork took longer than the actual consultation, x-rays, diagnosis and putting my wrist in a cast. The lady who helped me with translation was fantastic, all the staff were extremely efficient and the hospital on the whole was very clean. Many thanks for looking after me.

My father was admitted to ICU last Friday. I can honestly say from past experiences in this hospital this time the care has been outstanding. The care staff and doctors but especially the translators. One lady in picticular Claudi. I want to say a big thank you for the reassurance she gave myself and mother nothing was too much trouble.

Whilst on holiday I suffered a collapsed lung and went to the San roque hospital for treatment. I can honestly say they were amazing and really looked after me. The nurses and doctors were brilliant and made sure I was comfortable. The only thing that was a little daunting was being in the intensive care unit and not having access to my phone to make contact with my wife and children. They were very understanding and allowed me to make plenty calls via their phone though.Overall a massive thank you to the team. Great care and they constantly checking drains and changing cannulas

If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would. We had a serious medical emergency with my mum whilst we were in Maspalomas and the care she received was shocking. The ambulance crews aren't the fault of the hospital, so I won't include that, but from being dropped off at the hospital until release I was disgusted with her treatment. She was taken to hospital due to a suspected heart attack, and before we'd even walked through the door the guy on reception demanded we pay €500. Nobody would even consider treating my mum until we'd paid this deposit, even though we had full insurance and GHIC. I was waiting for my partner to arrive as he was driving behind the ambulance, when the receptionist came outside and said "So are you going to pay?".We eventually just paid the money so she could be seen as it was essentially life and death. This was promptly refunded as we didn't need to pay due to the GHIC.As for her treatment whilst in the hospital... Well they did some bloods and thankfully ruled out a heart attack, but then diagnosed a chest infection without her having any symptoms whatsoever. She wasn't offered a blanket when she was shivering, water or anything. She had something injected in to her arm without being told what it was, or why, and nobody even asked how she felt. She was then given antibiotics usually used for anthrax poisoning, which made her super sick. The few blood tests they did came back clear, but upon seeing our own GP, she was immediately given more blood tests to check for clots/pulmonary embolism as well as her not even having a chest infection. Nobody even suggested this whilst in San Roque.I could go on for hours, but if you ever need emergency care and get a choice, go to a different hospital!

Had to visit this place during my holiday. Firstly met by José at A&E admissions. He was extremely helpful and assisted me through my stay with lots of friendly advice throughout, what a great guy! Also would like to thank all the staff, nurses and doctors who attended me. Again they couldn’t do enough to help and I felt very well cared for and in safe hands. I would also like to thank Juan Carlos for introducing himself as a hotel Liaison. Very helpful service. I would highly recommend this place.

I have come to the hospital with Boreliosis. Extremely dangerous disease if untreated, caused by an insect. I have told the doctor I have highly probably Boreliosis, due to red circle on my skin. I have told the doctor that I was 2 months ago in an area with big amount of those insects and that I need antibiotics to treat is as fast as possible.Doctor refused to treat me and offered an injection of cortisol, which would make it even worst. I have refused. Thankfully, my own sister back in my country is a doctor and she sent me antiobiotics next week. After I returned home, I went for a blood test which confirmed that I have boreliosis. If I would not have a doctor in my family, I would just let them inject me and then I would leave, the signs on my skin would disappear and next time I would go to doctor would be when the boreliosis developed into one of its dangerous forms that would affect the rest of my life.THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND THE DOCTOR SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE DOING HER JOBI can thank god everyday that I actually had someone close to me who literally saved me. Everyone else would have ti accept what this doctor said, I know I would, and then, face the terrible consequences probably for the rest of the life. When I contacted the hospital and told them everything, they said that they did not make any mistake 🙂 They only almost ruined my life and then they swept it under the carpet.

Medical service is adequate, but communication with me is abominable, to put it mildly. My mother lies on intensive care intubated and is held in coma and has had a PCR test for covid-19 yesterday, of which I have not received the results as of yet. Meanwhile I have locked myself up in the hotel room waiting for the results to prevent a possible spread to the other guests in case it turns out positive. Now taking a risk traveling to the hospital to get an answer. Very bad this is not taken seriously.

I seem to be the odd one out here as I came to get a minor injury treated, not a covid test.As a Brit post-Brexit there was of course a bit of paperwork involved (bring everything, or at least have it on your phone - GHIC, passport, insurance policy), but the staff were helpful and polite. I was seen by a doctor quite quickly and then passed to a nurse for a dressing. I was told there would be a delay here as they were dealing with another patient, but it was probably just 5 minutes. It was less than an hour from walking in off the street to walking out again. My advice is to skip the local chemist (I was ripped off 40 Euro for little of use) and see these lovely people straight away if you have a problem.

Took my Covid Test yesterday (8/24/2021) and still no results the next day even though it was a same day test center. I also spoke with them about same day results because my flight was the next day. Then I go to call the Test Covid company and their phone number is disconnected. Now I have spent 20 minutes trying to call this hospital on extension 1, 3, and 0 at 8:15am in the morning and not one single person answers the phone at the hospital even???? This place is horrible...can not even get a simple Covid test done right after over a year of dealing with Covid. People were not spaced correctly in line for the Covid test. They didn't know which test I was getting even though I had an appointment for a PCR test. You have to then communicate to the nurse doing your Covid test that you want same day results even though same day is listed on their website...and clearly they can not even deliver same day results. This hospital is an EPIC fail from the phone operator to the Covid testing site. If I were you I would pick any other place for all services since they do not even answer their phones!!??

We booked an appointment, which is well recommended and easy to do online. The clinic opened on time, single queue with alloted times, we went in together, paperwork was easy, friendly and informative staff, simple procedure, waited for the result, very rapido and confirmed by email within hours, thank you, very efficient.... It's a shame the people waiting for the tests where not so patient or followed clear covid safety guidelines.....

Came here to get a rapid antigen Covid test for the airport. The hospital is 5 min via taxi from Riu Palace Oasis. But you can also get there by foot in about 25 min, no problem. First we were anxious because of the negative reviews. But when we arrived at the hospital (on a Wednesday afternoon) it was not crowded at all, only some other patients. We waited 15-25 min comfortably inside the building. The staff speaks English fluently and was friendly. The rapid test cost 15 Euro per person which is very affordable compared to the other places. If you can, I recommend to go there on a weekday, not on the weekend.

I went there for antygen test. The lady in the reception was rude and we had to wait very long for the results (I get that there are emergencies etc but there was literally nobody) Because I said i live here (i moved few months ago but I am still as a „tourist”) she wanted me to pay double for testing.. its funny that it turns out that tourists pay 15 eur/person and residents 30.. 🤔i had previously tests done in different place and there was totally different experience than that. I prefer to pay more next time than to come back there.

Possibly the worst hospital in Spain. I had a bad experience here a few years ago but thought nothing could go wrong with a Covid test. The hospital is utterly incompetent. They fail to learn from previous negative reviews (of which there are many) that complain about social distancing and simple hygiene.Testing took a total of 4 hours. There was no social distancing in the queue. When we were eventually called to be tested (the only aspect that was conducted well), we were put into a room with 23 other people. We were shoulder to shoulder. Horrendous. If anyone was positive, the whole room would be.There was no queue and so people were pushing to get to the desk when one of the staff was free. It got so bad with people queue jumping that security had to be called. Two people were almost fighting because it got so bad.The process and forms they have for such a simple test is utterly inefficient. The QR code system doesn’t work.Go somewhere else… anywhere… just not here.

Great experience, all things considered. It took me a total of 30 minutes from arrival to leaving with the Antigen COVID test done. All personnel was polite and professional. But Jose Luis Arevalo was exceptional in his communication and his explanation! The only think I would improve is to have more information on the website about COVID test and a direct number rather than an email.

On Tuesday January 12th Around 11am , I was schedule for corona test in your Hospital. Registration process was good. The waiting area was too crowded as 1,5 meter distance was not able to be managed.More hygiene problems I see in the testing process. The testing staff did not change the gloves in the entire testing process. From calling, to receiving me, up to completing the test. She never change the gloves.I fear, she never changed the gloves for each patient. As I did not see any bin with used gloves. This is a big hygiene risk, not only to be tested but even to get Corona in your hospital when not following common hygiene rules.

Reading the other reviews this hospital seems to have a lot of problems. I couldn't get an appointment for a month so had to go to the emergency room. They treat you like cattle. The interpreter was OK after I told her and the doctor to calm down. Yes they're busy but no reason to be aggressive and disrespectful!! I told the doctor my ear was in pain but he was very rough and impolite. Had to wait around for 3 hours just so I could get a simple prescription. They had to book a later appointment just for this! It's absolute chaos there. Miserable day and I pay for this with my bloody insurance!! I'm still not right so need to go back. Absolutely DREADING it.

Whilst the Dr's I have seen here over a couple of years have been very competent, the business of getting appointments by telephone is frustrating and incompetent. If you press the button for English language you usually are finally attended, after a ten minute wait, by someone who does not speak English and puts you back on hold for (so far) another ten minutes. I actually asked for the appointment in Spanish so there was really no need for it to be passed back to English speaker. I have now been waiting, listening to this music and message for over twenty minutes. It is not the first time. Not good. This experience is what is reflected in my rating score today.

Danke vielmals.
