Find out the answers to the most frequently asked questions about our medical tourism business: why you should trust us, what we charge, post-operative follow-up, and how to benefit from priority treatment and preferential rates…
What do you charge? How much do you charge for your services?
BestClinic.com: a completely free service to help you with your medical project. Quotes, advice, support: take advantage of our services at no charge! You pay only for your treatment, directly to the clinic, and only if you decide to undergo surgery. Estimates are free and without obligation.
How can I find out how much an operation costs?
To find out the exact cost of your procedure, simply complete the contact form. You’ll receive a personalized quote from our partner clinics, taking into account your objectives and situation. The prices shown on our website are indicative, as each procedure is unique.
How and when do I pay for my treatment?
Payment for your procedure is made directly to the healthcare facility, in euros or local currency depending on the country. Payment methods are flexible: cash, credit card or bank transfer. To avoid any surprises, please confirm your payment arrangements with the establishment before you leave.
Why not contact the hospital directly rather than using your services?
Our completely free service offers you real added value compared with direct contact with the establishments. As a privileged partner, clinics and hospitals will do their utmost to satisfy you. What’s more, we are in the process of signing a contract of trust with our partners, with solid commitments regarding post-operative follow-up. You’ll benefit from priority treatment and, depending on the region, exclusive advantages such as faster care and better rates than direct, as well as hotel room upgrades where possible.
Do you offer payment facilities?
Some of our partner clinics offer you the possibility of staggering your payments according to your needs. We also recommend that you contact banking partners in your country to obtain consumer micro-credit.
Are there discounts for multiple operations?
Yes, we do! As a privileged partner of our healthcare establishments, we negotiate the best rates for our patients. In the case of several procedures combined, you’ll automatically receive advantageous discounts from the clinics.
Do the surgeons and staff speak my language?
Most surgeons speak English. The translator who will accompany you throughout your medical journey, and who regularly welcomes international patients, will communicate with you in your language. The translator will act as an intermediary between you and the surgeon, and between you and the medical staff.
Can I speak directly with the doctor/surgeon?
Yes, we can arrange this for you, just fill in the quote request form and you will be contacted by the clinic. After submitting your medical information and photos, you can discuss this further with the doctor.
Why is surgery and medical treatment abroad less expensive?
The cost of living is generally lower, which has a direct impact on the salaries of medical staff (surgeons, nurses, anesthetists, etc.). What’s more, clinics’ overheads are also lower: rent, utilities, equipment, insurance… All these “hidden” costs account for a significant proportion of the final price, and a reduction in them translates into significant savings for you.
Is the quality of care as good as in my home country?
Turkey boasts world-class medical facilities, renowned for their excellence and welcoming many international patients. JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation, comparable to American standards, is your guarantee of high-quality care. Choose clinics with this accreditation.
Are the surgeons qualified and experienced?
Absolutely! Turkish clinics invest heavily in state-of-the-art equipment, attracting highly qualified and experienced surgeons. Turkey is renowned for its expertise not only in cosmetic, hair, dental and bariatric surgery, but also in cutting-edge fields such as fertility, cell therapy and cancer treatment.
What do hygiene standards, sterilization and safety procedures look like?
Hygiene, sterilization and safety standards are a top priority in Turkey. JCI-accredited clinics, like many of those we recommend, comply with extremely rigorous international standards, comparable to those in the USA. Other establishments must comply with local regulations, which also guarantee a high level of patient safety.
What guarantees are there in the event of complications?
Although no medical procedure can be guaranteed to 100%, our partner clinics are committed to offering you quality care and rigorous post-operative follow-up. We are in the process of drawing up contracts to formalize these commitments and guarantee optimal support (available soon). In the event of complications, the clinic concerned will take the necessary measures. We also recommend that you take out specific travel insurance to cover any additional costs associated with your stay.
How long does a medical trip last?
The duration of a medical trip varies according to the type of procedure. For aesthetic procedures such as Botox or injections, a few hours are sufficient. For surgery, on the other hand, you’ll need to plan a stay of around a week, especially for the removal of sutures (which can sometimes be carried out by your GP). Some major operations may require a longer stay. Your surgeon will inform you of the precise duration during the remote consultation.
Is it safe to travel alone for surgery?
It’s perfectly possible to travel alone for surgery, as the medical staff are always on hand to assist you. However, having someone close to you with you can give you extra support, especially if you’re discovering a new country. It’s a personal decision, but you can rest assured that you’ll be well looked after and safe, whether you travel alone or accompanied.
Do you organize flights, accommodation and transport on site?
The clinics and hospitals book your flights, accommodation and on-site transport.
Who will have access to my medical records and confidential information?
Our role is to put you in touch with medical establishments; we are not a medical tourism agency. It is the clinics and hospitals that manage your medical file. Rest assured, we have no access to any of your medical information, which remains strictly confidential and is processed directly by the clinic.
Do you need information or a medical history from my own doctor before I travel?
As we are not a medical tourism agency, we do not collect medical information. The clinic or hospital you choose will contact you directly to obtain the medical history required for your procedure. They may ask you for additional information if your state of health requires it, particularly in the case of surgery.
Does the clinic or hospital offer transportation from the hospital to my hotel? And from the hotel to the airport?
Yes, absolutely! The clinics and hospitals we work with take care of all your transfers: airport-hotel, hotel-clinic and clinic-airport. These journeys are included in the medical quote you receive, so you have nothing to worry about!
